What is a WOVI?
A WOVI is a Written-Off Vehicle Inspection - the mandatory check that lets you re-register a repairable write-off in Queensland. It confirms the vehicle's identity and that recorded damage has been safely repaired.
Which vehicles need a WOVI?
Any vehicle recorded on the Written-Off Vehicle Register (WOVR) as a repairable write-off must pass a WOVI before it can be re-registered.
Can a statutory write-off get a WOVI?
No. Statutory write-offs cannot be re-registered for road use, so they cannot pass a WOVI. Only repairable write-offs are eligible.
How long does a WOVI take?
The inspection itself usually takes around 30-60 minutes. The real wait is getting a booking, which can be months through the standard system.
How much does a WOVI cost?
